The client had somehow managed to climb and remove about 75% of the branches on this 20m+ fir, but with so many open wounds, lack of needles and being top heavy, not to mention it's lack of natural form, it needed to come down and under control. A few years in the decision making, but the client took the decision to have a Spruce brought down, removing any risk to the chalet, allowing more light and unrivaled view of the mountains behind. The single tree had 3 x 30 odd meter high stems, so there was a lot of material to bring down onto a very steep side of the mountain.

Working in a couple of old #sycamores removing a number of long branches hovering over the roof of an alpage looking over towards Le Grand Bec and #Courchevel. A lot of rigging involved as well as dead-wooding and general pruning. Winter day was short and cold, but beautiful.
